Historically known for being a major coal exporting port, Partington is situated on the bank of the Manchester Ship Canal. Today its miles and miles of towpaths serve as the perfect route for walking, running and cycling. Nearby there is a small shopping centre ideal for all your essentials. There is also a children’s centre which hosts a wide variety of activities. For older children there is a popular skate park.

Leisure 

Partington has recently been part of a major regeneration scheme which has seen considerable improvements to the local shopping centre and now offers a selection of favourite brands. The famous Trafford Centre is just 4 miles away with a vast selection of high stores as well as a multiplex cinema and a wide range of restaurants. 3 miles away you’ll find National Trust Park, Dunham Massey with extensive grounds, ancient deer park and onsite café set in picturesque gardens. For primary aged children there are two local schools. Our Lady of Lourdes primary is right on the doorstep at around 150m from Millbank Lock and is rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED, alternatively Partington Central Academy is half a mile away and is also rated ‘Good’. For secondary aged children Broadoak School is 0.7 miles away and Trafford High School just 4 miles away, both rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED.
