Now in their early seventies, Sue and Kenneth lived in the same house since 1989, having bought it just after they got married over 30 years ago. However, they recently decided to make the move to a smaller, more manageable and super stylish home at Radclyffe Green in Chadderton.

Why now?
“We decided to buy because we were ready to downsize and felt the time was right. When we came to look at the show homes and the development, we both walked out and said ‘this is the one’.
“It just felt right.”
Why new build?
“Originally we were looking for a bungalow. We looked long and hard but every one we saw needed renovating.
“So we thought ‘ok, we’ll look at two bedroom houses’. We saw this one straight away and it was just made for us.”
Favourite thing
“Our favourite thing about our new home is that it’s light and airy. Even though we’ve downsized, it doesn’t feel like it - it still feels like we’ve got loads of space.
“We also can’t believe how much our bills have gone down. It’s much lower maintenance than our previous home and it’s definitely one we’ll stay in forever.”
Why Radclyffe Green?
“We were attracted to the development because of its size. The previous estate we lived on was really large and as soon as we saw Radclyffe Green, we knew it would be much better for us.”
Best advice
“We’ve had no problems, it’s just been lovely. It was no hassle, it doesn’t feel smaller and it’s a great way of decluttering your old property.
“If I was giving anyone any advice about downsizing I’d say just go for it.”
