Countryside Partnerships handover new social housing to Warwick District Council

A groundbreaking collaboration between Countryside Partnerships, the UK’s leading mixed-tenure affordable housing developer, Warwick District Council and its wholly owned housing company Milverton Homes has seen the first of 248 new Council properties handed over to the local authority and the first residents receiving the keys to their new homes.

Representatives from the three organisations met with new residents at Stoneleigh View in Kenilworth to view the properties which form part of a development which will provide 620 new homes for the town in close proximity to the recently relocated and expanded secondary school.

Over the next five years half (310) of the two, three and four – bedroom properties at Stoneleigh View all installed with air source heat pumps and solar panels to improve energy efficiency, will be allocated to the District Council and Milverton Homes to be made available for social rent, shared ownership or private rental.

New tenant Edilay said: “I have no words to express how grateful I am for everything that Warwick District Council has done for me. I have always dreamed of having a new house, and the day I signed the contract and received my keys was the most beautiful thing that happened in my life.”

Adam Sharpe, Managing Director, South West Midlands, Countryside Partnerships said: “We are thrilled to be handing over the first homes to Warwick District Council. Joint ventures such as this provide a range of high-quality family homes to suit people from all walks of life. The blend of open market and affordable properties provides a wonderfully diverse neighbourhood where communities can thrive.”

Councillor Paul Wightman, Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for Housing said: “The Council is working hard to meet the housing needs of a growing population. In an area where house prices are well above the national average and affordable rental homes are in short supply, it’s wonderful to see the smiles on our tenants faces as they get the keys to their high quality, energy-efficient new Council homes."

A sales hub for the Stoneleigh View development is now open and located off Glasshouse Lane.
