SAVING YOU MONEY
According to the Home Builders Federation, on average, our homes are 64% cheaper to heat than an equivalent Victorian property, saving you up to £907 a year on your heating bills. With energy prices high, there has never been a better time to buy new. As well as saving on your heating bills our homes are also cheaper to run when it comes to lighting and water with a combined saving of 50% across your energy bills annually.
GREEN MORTGAGES
By buying a new energy efficient Countryside Home you could take advantage of exclusive ‘Green’ mortgage products. A mortgage lender could offer lower interest rates on properties that carry an energy performance certificate or a predicted energy assessment rating of A – C. Think of it as a reward for buyers who are purchasing an energy efficient home. All our standard homes have a rating of A or B so this type of mortgage may be ideal if you are looking to purchase a new build home.
KEEPING YOU COSY
Unlike older properties, our homes come with high efficiency double glazing as standard, letting plenty of light and warmth in while minimising heat loss and reducing the amount of noise you’ll hear within your home. Not only do they keep you cosy they also reduce the amount of external noise that you’ll hear within your home.
Additional roof and floor insulation are among the other unseen features included with our homes that will help reduce the costs of keeping your home warm in the winter months, while also keeping you cool in the summer.
REDUCING WATER USAGE
Our kitchens and bathrooms incorporate water saving measures, without compromising on style or functionality.
These features mean our homes use up to 20% less water* than the UK average. Our taps and showers use aerated technology to provide the feeling of a strong flow, whilst using less water. Plus, our dual low flush toilets use the minimum amount of water to ensure less waste.
*Average Countryside home uses 100-110 litres/person/day compared to UK average of 140 litres/person/day according to the Energy Savings Trust

Green spaces are plentiful in Saffron Walden. The Common in the town centre is a large field that welcomes dog walkers and picnickers looking to enjoy some sunshine. Outdoor events are held here in summer, including an annual carnival known as the 8 Day Weekend, which celebrates the community with performances, markets and games. To the north of town is Bridge End Gardens, a collection of Victorian ornamental gardens that's free to visit year-round.
There are several attractions to discover too, including the local museum featuring archaeological findings and the Fry Art Gallery that's been celebrating local artists for 40 years. In neighbouring Audley End, you'll find the grand Audley End House and Gardens, a Jacobean estate protected by English Heritage. Walk just one minute beyond the house and you'll arrive at a miniature railway in woodland with fairy trails, a magical experience for little ones.
Our new homes in Saffron Walden are also a fantastic base for dozens of walking and cycling trails. The Bartlow–Ashdon Circular is a local favourite for its beautiful views, historical burial grounds and dog-friendly pub en route. Cyclists can challenge themselves with the 37.5km Linton and Saffron Walden Circular, which is an uplifting experience in any season.
After your adventures, you can refuel at one of the town's excellent cafés or restaurants. The Goat and Grass is upheld as the best brunch spot, while Gluttons is a lesser-known gem with fantastic food and an intimate atmosphere. For something sweet, it's got the be the artisan bakery Café Coucou. A 10-minute drive out of town will bring you to Ashdon and the acclaimed Sunday roasts at the Rose & Crown, a cosy pub with traditional character.
