Living in Salford has become a trend across a range of demographics, with young renters, first-time buyers, and those looking to upsize, all looking to call the city home.
At our development, The Fairways at Brackley Village, we have seen a flurry of interest from people interested in new build homes in Salford. Its proximity to Salford Quays and Manchester city centre - alongside its vast green space, good primary schools and great employment opportunities - has made it popular with many homebuyers.
At our sales centre, we’re often asked if Salford is a good place to live. And it really is, yes!
Let's deep dive into some of the reasons you may want to make a move to the growing city.
Job opportunities
The development and expansion of MediaCityUK has been a major driver of growth in the city. It’s a truly global hub for creative, digital and tech industries, and home to the broadcasters BBC and ITV. MediaCityUK generates an abundance of job opportunities and has a growing, talented workforce.
If you’re an entrepreneur, you might also be interested to know that Salford boasts the highest productivity in Greater Manchester. It’s a real engine for progress in the region.
A balanced lifestyle
Salford Quays is a cultural hotspot of the North. With venues like The Lowry and Imperial War Museum North, the Quays regularly host events, exhibitions and shows. It also has many popular restaurants, bars and cafes. One of the most popular is Kargo MKT, a large food hall which offers a range of independent kitchens with food from around the world. Its waterfront sun terrace also hosts a variety of live music events.
Some big names are also coming soon, including Brewski, which is already popular in Chorlton and Manchester City Centre. Nell’s Pizza has also just launched its iconic 22-inch New York-style pizzas at the Quays too.
Beyond the busy Salford Quays area, there is plenty of green space across the city too. Over 30% of Salford is Green Belt, with parks, nature reserves and canals offering lovely views and walking spaces.
Connectivity
One of the biggest draws to Salford is its excellent connectivity to Manchester. It has a comprehensive transport network, including the Metrolink tram, bus routes and multiple railway stations. It also has easy access to the motorway, and it's not far from Manchester Airport either.
From our development, The Fairways at Brackley Village, the M61 is just 0.8 miles away, and the closest train station is 2.4 miles away.
High-quality education
The University of Salford attracts thousands of students each year. With its main campus adjacent to the historic Peel Park and another campus at MediaCityUK, it's ideally located if you’re considering higher education for yourself or your children.
For parents of young children, Salford also has good-quality primary and secondary schools. There are multiple schools within walking distance of our new build homes in Salford.
Modern living
As for the best places to live in Salford, we might be biased, but The Fairways at Brackley Village, just off Salford Road, is certainly proving popular.
Kaosara, a homeowner at the development, said: “People laugh at me when I say this, but I almost cried when I saw children playing out and riding their bikes around the development when we first visited. You just don’t see that anymore. It’s a lovely family environment and one I knew I wanted to raise my children in.”
