New Blackburn community thriving at Brookfield Vale

Since its launch in 2022, our Brookfield Vale development has attracted buyers from across Blackburn and beyond, firmly establishing itself as a thriving community.

Located just a ten-minute drive from the town centre, Brookfield Vale residents benefit from a balance of urban and rural living.

From a contemporary market hall and shopping centre, to vibrant cultural and heritage sites such as King George’s Hall and Blackburn Museum and Arts Gallery, and the stunning surroundings of the Lancashire countryside, Blackburn has all the ingredients to be a hugely desirable place to call home.

The three and four-bedroom energy-efficient homes at Brookfield Vale, situated off Roman Road, feature our signature skylight windows and modern open-plan designs - and have attracted first-time buyers and home movers alike.

Pam, who moved to Blackburn to begin a new chapter with her partner, commented: “I wanted to move to the countryside after living in a town all my life. Pete was born and bred in Blackburn, and when he introduced me to the area, I immediately fell in love with it. It’s commutable to the motorway for work and has beautiful views of the Pennines on our doorstep. With two dogs between us, having a reservoir only a stone's throw away is ideal for our daily walks.”

Justyna and Jakub were out for a weekend walk when a spur of the moment decision led them to take their first step onto the property ladder. Justyna said: “We were living in Blackburn, just five minutes from the development. We were enjoying a walk around our area when we decided to stop by the Countryside sales office. The specification was great, everything was amazing quality.”

Our work in Blackburn over the last four years has involved so much more than building new homes. We’ve engaged with the wider community and shown our support for the town by fundraising, volunteering and making contributions to local schools.

This has included holding a health and safety assembly for local school children at St James’ Lower Darwen primary school to ensure they stay safe when near building sites. We also donated £500 to help fund the school’s Christmas parties.

As part of our contribution to the local area, we provided £395,000 to increase nursery capacity at Longshaw Infant School, creating 21 places for children aged two to four years old.

Councillor Julie Gunn, Executive Member for Children, Young People and Education at Blackburn with Darwen Council, said: “We have welcomed investment from Countryside Homes to ensure our schools have extra space available when we build new houses in the borough. The additional pupil places will also reassure parents when looking for homes in this area.”
