First-time buyers, Femi (32) and Eniola (29) have moved into a brand-new, three-bedroom home in Rochdale, with just a 5% deposit.
Both registered nurses, the couple were previously renting a one-bedroom flat in Royton, Oldham. However, with Eniola working in nearby Castleton, they looked to Rochdale to settle down, ultimately choosing to buy their first home at Countryside Homes’ Calico Grove development on Royle Road.
With only a 5% deposit, they were able to purchase the contemporary three-bedroom New Stamford house type.
Speaking about the process, Femi said: “Last summer we decided we wanted to start looking for our first home. We’d begun to save by cutting down on a few luxury items we used to enjoy buying. It meant my partner wasn’t able to buy any new handbags!
“When we were ready, we spoke to the financial advisor recommended by Countryside Homes who took us through our options and explained we were eligible for a 5% deposit mortgage. We needed space for family to visit so having multiple bathrooms, more than two bedrooms and a private parking space was important to us.”
